Company exceeds first-year target, strengthening its mission to keep children safe in every ride.
ROTH ID TAG, a leader in child passenger safety innovation, proudly announces that 82% of its full-time team members have completed training to become nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs), well beyond the company’s initial goal of having 50% certified within each employee’s first year.
A CPST is a nationally certified expert trained to educate parents and caregivers on the proper selection, installation, and use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. CPSTs undergo a rigorous certification process, including hands-on training, written exams, and supervised seat checks.
This milestone reflects how ROTH ID TAG’s mission aligns with the work of Child Passenger Safety Technicians, ensuring every child rides as safely as possible. Beyond offering a product that gives first responders quick access to emergency contacts, the company is equipping its team with the knowledge to guide families in proper car seat use, creating a well-rounded approach to child passenger safety. Together, the company’s product innovation and CPST expertise create a stronger, more comprehensive approach to child passenger safety.
“Our mission goes far beyond selling a product,” said Lauren Tiura, Owner & CEO of ROTH ID TAG. “We believe in being active advocates for child safety, and that means giving our team the knowledge, skills, and certification to truly make a difference in our communities.”
Born from tragedy, the ROTH ID TAG was inspired by the events of December 23, 2022, when a devastating accident claimed the life of Julie Roth and her unborn daughter. Her two surviving toddlers endured hours of uncertainty before being reunited with family—a heartbreaking experience that sparked the mission to create a tool that could help protect other children in emergencies.

The ROTH ID TAG Identification System is an information tag that can be affixed to a child’s car seat. In the event of an emergency, the tag pulls from the car seat and becomes an emergency identification wristband. This ensures first responders have immediate access to critical contact and pertinent information when every second counts.
“As a company built around protecting children, it only makes sense that we equip our team with the same expertise trusted by hospitals, police departments, and fire stations nationwide,” said Lauren Tiura “We’re proud to exceed our goal, and we will continue working toward 100% certification in the next six months.”

The ROTH ID TAG was created after tragedy struck our own family.
On December 23, 2022, Julie Roth, beloved wife and mother, was traveling with her two small children when they were caught up in a 47+ vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike. Julie and Edna Rose, the baby she was carrying, did not survive, but her two other children did.
Injured and afraid, Julie’s two toddlers waited many hours to see a familiar face while emergency responders worked to identify them and contact their father, who was at work. Thankfully, Ayla and Rory Roth are alive and well today. They are the true reason for the ROTH ID TAG creation.
