A calming jar is a great way to teach mindfulness, help children calm their minds, and focus their attention when life gets chaotic.

Why we love this craft? This simple jar helps combat the craziness of the season and helps your children find calm and relax.

Materials:

• Jar
• Water
• Food Coloring
• Glitter

Directions:

1. Fill an empty jar up to the top with water.
2. Add food coloring of choice to the water.
3. Add as much or as little glitter as you would like (a thicker glitter works better than fine glitter).
4. Tightly close the jar to avoid spilling and shake to mix.
5. As your child watches the glitter fall back down to the bottom of the jar, it gives a relaxing visual that helps to calm them, as well as give them something else to focus on.

On December 23, 2022, Julie Roth, beloved wife and mother, was traveling with her two small children when they were caught up in a 47+ vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike. Julie and Edna Rose, the baby she was carrying, did not survive, but her two other children did.
