STEP 1: FILL OUT THE ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG

On the front and back of the tag, write your (or the user’s) name and information. This will be used by First Responders to quickly identify and help in an emergency.

  • To ensure water resistance, use a black or blue permanent fine-point marker.
  • Write legibly – use a label maker if needed
  • This is your tag; write any information you feel a First Responder will need.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS

Whether it is a spouse, parent, or best friend, it is important to designate who you would want authorities to call in case of an accident. The person designated should have knowledge of your recent health history and whom you trust to help make important decisions on your behalf. Designate someone familiar with your day-to-day activities or vacation plans. Finally, someone who will be willing to answer the call and/or immediately listen to voicemail from an unknown number.

We recommend sharing contact information among all the designated emergency contacts listed. Whichever contact answers first, that person can then reach the other contacts, enabling First Responders to focus on helping you, feeling confident that the loved ones have been contacted.

List three emergency contacts on the ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG. Information should include the emergency contact’s name, relationship to you, and phone number. Be sure to ask the chosen contacts for permission to list them as an emergency contact and/or the best phone number to put on the ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

The ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG includes space for important medical information, such as a particular medical condition, life-threatening allergies, an important medication schedule, etc. Ask yourself if there is anything that would be critical for someone to know about you in an emergency. Medical professionals prioritize such details when assessing an unconscious or non-communicative patient. Having specifics about medical conditions can prevent potential complications from incorrect treatments or medications. Are you allergic to bees? Are you diabetic? Are you living in a foreign country where you’re not fluent in the language? These are just a few examples of information that, when written, can ensure that you receive the most informed care in any situation. Depending on the situation, First Responders can accommodate these needs when you provide this information.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We suggest carrying a photo of yourself with your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG, or keeping your tag in the same wallet pocket as your photo ID. The ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG also has an “Info” line where you can include additional information such as:

  • Extensive medical information: If you have more medical info than the tag has room for, let First Responders know where they can find the additional information they need. For example, “medical binder in glove box”.
  • If you live alone and have an animal at home that would need to be tended to.
  • If you are traveling on a long-distance trip, you may want to fill out a tag with emergency contacts located near your destination or who speak the local language.

STEP 2: CARRYING THE ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG

To ensure emergency contacts are easily accessible to first responders, it is recommended to carry your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG in multiple locations. Keep one on your person-such as in a pocket, wallet, phone case, or purse-for quick and convenient access. You should also keep emergency contact information in your vehicle, attached to your seat belt using our flame-resistant seat belt cuff, as well as in your glove box or clipped to your sun visor. It is a good idea to keep a copy of your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG in your briefcase, luggage, backpack, or diaper bag. It is also advisable to have tags for each family member in an easy-to-find location in your home, i.e., on your refrigerator.

ADDITIONAL ACCESSORIES

ROTH ID TAG offers additional accessories to help increase the accessibility of your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG system.

Seat Belt Cuff: (included in our kits) Our seatbelt cuffs are made of Nomex, an inherently flame-resistant, high-temperature resistant fiber that will not melt, drip, or support combustion in air. Attach the cuff securely, but loosely, to the seat belt of your vehicle. The seatbelt should not be bent or curved after attaching the cuff. NEVER ATTACH A SEAT BELT CUFF TO A CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT BELT OR A VEHICLE SEAT BELT BEING USED TO SECURE A CHILD’S CAR SEAT. If the seat belt is being used to secure a child’s car seat, attach the Original ROTH ID TAG for child passenger car seats on the car seat itself.

Window Decals: (sold separately) Durable stickers for the outside of your vehicle to let first responders know there is a ROTH ID TAG System inside.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

When needed in an emergency, First Responders will locate your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG. At that time, they will be able to identify you, perform immediate medical attention as needed, and reach your emergency contacts. First responders can fold and tear along the perforated edge to create a medical ID wristband that stays with you, reducing the risk that vital information is lost in emergency transit.

TAG DISPOSAL

Once you are finished using your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG, please ensure all personal information is completely obscured before disposing of it in a standard trash receptacle.

UPDATING INFORMATION ON THE TAG

It is vital that you regularly check your emergency contacts and update your ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG if there are any changes in the user’s medical information or the listed emergency contacts’ information. Most ROTH ID TRAVELER TAG Kits contain multiple tags in case information needs to be updated or changed.
