On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Lima Elks Lodge #54 proudly presented the Ottawa Volunteer Fire Department Association with a fund totaling $1,439.95 to purchase ROTH ID TAG emergency identification materials.

These life-saving ID tags are designed to assist law enforcement and first responders in quickly identifying individuals during emergencies such as automobile accidents. Each ROTH ID TAG provides critical emergency contact and medical information, helping responders communicate vital details when seconds matter most.

The funds were made possible through the Ohio Elks Association and the Lima Fifty-Four Athletic and Scholastic Fund, reflecting the Elks’ ongoing commitment to serving local communities. Their generosity ensures that Ottawa’s first responders are better equipped to enhance community safety and preparedness.

“This partnership highlights the power of community organizations coming together for public safety,” said Jennifer Schindler, ROTH ID TAG’s Community Partnership Director. “We’re proud to see local Elks Lodges and volunteer fire departments joining forces to make a difference.”

About the ROTH ID TAG Community Partner Program

The ROTH ID TAG Community Partner Program was created to empower organizations like schools, first responder agencies, nonprofits, and local businesses to improve emergency preparedness in their own communities. Through this program, partners can access exclusive resources, department training, and discounted materials designed to make it easy to implement emergency identification systems for children, families, and adults.

From small-town fire departments to large school districts, our Community Partners share one goal, ensuring that every individual can be identified and cared for during an emergency.

The ROTH ID TAG was created after tragedy struck our own family.

On December 23, 2022, Julie Roth, beloved wife and mother, was traveling with her two small children when they were caught up in a 47+ vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike. Julie and Edna Rose, the baby she was carrying, did not survive, but her two other children did.

Injured and afraid, Julie’s two toddlers waited many hours to see a familiar face while emergency responders worked to identify them and contact their father, who was at work. Thankfully, Ayla and Rory Roth are alive and well today. They are the true reason for the ROTH ID TAG creation.
