We are proud to partner with Ward Township Volunteer Fire Department and grateful for their dedication to protecting children throughout their community.

At ROTH ID TAG, our mission is rooted in helping families protect their children—and we’re grateful for partners who bring that mission to life in their own communities. One exceptional example is the Ward Township Volunteer Fire Department in Carbon Hill, Ohio. Their dedication to child passenger safety is making a real difference across their county.

A Community-Focused Approach

Ward Township VFD is launching a countywide effort to ensure more families have access to ROTH ID TAGs. Their first initiative is a community “Pick-Up Day” at the firehouse, where parents can stop by to receive ID tags for their children and learn more about how they work. To make sure no family misses out, they’re also offering drop-offs and mail-outs for anyone unable to attend.

This level of commitment reflects their belief that every child deserves protection and every parent deserves peace of mind.

Training First Responders and Beyond

Understanding the importance of consistent emergency response, the department is planning presentations for more than 15 fire departments in their county, along with neighboring agencies. Their outreach includes fire departments, law enforcement, and local medical staff. By educating first responders on how ROTH ID TAG can support rapid, accurate emergency communication, they’re building a stronger, safer network for families.

Extending Safety Education Throughout the Community

Their efforts go even further. Ward Township VFD will also present at the county Fish & Game meeting and any other local gathering where child safety information can make an impact. Their goal is simple: meet community members where they are and make safety tools easy to access.

Their dedication reflects the spirit of a quote shared by the department, one that captures the heart behind their efforts:

“Courage is not being ‘fearless.’ Courage is shaking at the knees, choking on your words, heart gripped by uncertainty, but stepping forward on your journey anyway.”
—Rebecca Ray

Whether speaking to a room full of first responders or one parent at a time, they continue stepping forward with courage and purpose.

What is the ROTH ID TAG?

The ROTH ID TAG is a Universal Emergency Contact Identification System. A simple yet powerful tool that makes emergency contact information available in seconds when it matters most. Designed to attach to car seats, strollers, walkers, or any personal device, it ensures that emergency responders or good Samaritans can quickly contact a child’s caregiver in case of an accident or emergency.

ROTH ID TAG works with community entities to Keep Families Connected in Emergency Situations

We have joined forces with the Julie Roth Memorial Foundation to make ROTH ID TAG Systems available to the public through partnerships with government agencies, educators, CPSTs, hospitals / medical professionals, non-profit foundations, and more. We provide registered agencies and organizations with bulk discount pricing on ROTH ID TAG systems along with training resources to raise awareness of the need for everyone to make their emergency contact information available.

The ROTH ID TAG was created after tragedy struck our own family.

On December 23, 2022, Julie Roth, beloved wife and mother, was traveling with her two small children when they were caught up in a 47+ vehicle pile-up on the Ohio Turnpike. Julie and Edna Rose, the baby she was carrying, did not survive, but her two other children did.

Injured and afraid, Julie’s two toddlers waited many hours to see a familiar face while emergency responders worked to identify them and contact their father, who was at work. Thankfully, Ayla and Rory Roth are alive and well today. They are the true reason for the ROTH ID TAG creation.
